As Julia prepares for her day, she receives a call from one of her closest friends about a surprise. After coming to his home, she finds that her friend Christian has done something shocking.
Deeply fascinated with the idea of doing a mystery thriller short film with a theme revolving around identity, this is the first short film Zach co-wrote with somebody. Completely done in his spare time outside of film school, A Social Masquerade was entirely a passion project that never screened publically or was considered for a festival run. It's also notable that this was the first time that Alex Kumph, Alex Flanagan, Flynn Harris, and Zach all worked together, later becoming the team that ensemble-directed Eyes.
